In this 90 min workshop, we explore the use of Transactional Analysis in developing crucial skills to navigate and inspire momentum in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) work in organisations. As work in DEIB grows in its scope and importance globally, opening space for critical discussion on tools and methods of developing skills required is crucial.
We aim to bring together practitioners and leaders in dialogue to share experiences and practical perspectives in using TA to support the work in developing DEIB skills in leaders and organisations. Conversations on diversity, inclusion and equity are fraught with misinterpretation, discomfort, sensitivity and defensiveness. The most powerful DEI development experiences are personal. They speak to employees on an emotional level and allow them to view things from a different perspective.
Transactional Analysis offers fundamental principles to We explore TA models that create depth in development, shifts in perspective, and openness to connect at a human level. As an organisation with roots in the Western and African context, we particularly aim to explore TA and leadership paradigms that incorporate African philosophies and values. Against a TA background we are looking at the cultural conditions of self and mutual awareness, spontaneity and intimacy as the ability to bond in intercultural organizational contexts. In this workshop, we bring in our experiences in this work, and open space for meaningful debate and discussion.
