Loss and death are certainties for us all. In this workshop we encourage participants to think about anticipatory grief and facing death. How does this change our relationship with the world and how we identify? This 3 hour workshop, will be experiential by getting participants to explore through discussion and reflection with a Transactional Analysis lens, the impact anticipatory grief and death has personally and professionally. The workshop will give an opportunity to consider the current theory about the different experiences of loss and death, and how this knowledge can encourage changes in Transactional Analysis practice.
When facing death we start reflecting what we have achieved in our life and whether others will remember us. It is our experiences anticipatory grief and our fears of death encourage script behaviour. The workshop will enable discussion and challenge for participants in how to work with those in a not ok life position and unlikely to shift to ok.
The presenters have both professional and personal experience in this area. They are passionate about discussing anticipatory grief and death within the Transactional Analysis community and offer a range of ways to explore this topic. In our experience, these discussions have often proved to be rich, enlivening and empowering for both therapists and clients. We are excited to be holding this workshop at the international conference.
