In workshop I would like to present an original skill-acquisition model how are leaders or teachers developed. The model is based on a descriptive approach to the affinity of a trainee’s attempt to the actual skill. The model offers an Affinity Continuum with the following stages: Tentative, Symptomatic and Conceptual, and shows typical discounts that are observed in trainees in the individual stages. Effective trainee strategies with the potential of supporting trainees in reaching a higher stage are suggested, and linked to a specific teaching style. The Affinity Continuum stages are topped off with a stage of Trainee Autonomy where the trainees have a strong potential of becoming effective leaders. The origin of the concept was developed in a future teacher training in Czech Republic and is based on observation how people developed their skills from perspective of their trainer or leader.

This workshop is designed to introduce participants to the Affinity Continuum model, demonstrating its relevance and application in the TA training or other skill based trainings.

Workshop will be based on experiential learning approach. It will be great for all people that work as a trainers, leaders, teachers in business companies and schools, for all TA trainers and anyone interested in leadership development and organizational growth.
