This workshop will cover some of the myths around exploring culture in organisations, is it part of the script or not? I will share how I have connected non TA concepts to the script system (O’Reilly-Knapp, M. and Erskine, R.G., 2018) which offers a fresh perspective for practitioners.

In addition to this we will consider the organisational patterns and how they appear to be manifestations of injuctions and the lack of integration of our injuctive messages being key to patterns and games (Berne, E. 1964) being repeated.

Key areas of focus will be:

  • Exploring organisational culture – what it is according TA and non TA?
  • Common aspects or features of culture – what connections can we see to the core theme of the conference
  • Exploration of Pattern spotting – Sharing a case study and perhaps noticing what patterns exist in the TA community
  • How do we move forward – what does working in this way tell us about the organisation and what it needs

The session will be structure, include individual reflection, small and big group discussions to cater for various needs of participants.

This is a presentation of two of my CTA essays emergent thinking and I look forward to presenting new ways of thinking to the TA community.
