This workshop will show an updated version of redecision therapy that was originated by the Gouldings in the 1970s.
Times change and therapies have to change with them and so the idea of a redecision and relational transactional analysis was created.
This workshop looks at some of the similarities and differences that exists between the two approaches and how they can they be combined and yet remain distinct in themselves.
For example they both operate at different levels of consciousness, have different assumptions about the basic resilience of humans and differ in where they assume the locus of control exists for us all. Is the power in the patient, in the therapist or in the relationship? This workshop will seek to answer this question.
Redecision therapy is a one person individuating therapy that encourages a person to experience their separateness and individualism.
Relational TA is a two person psychology that encourages the person to be in, and experience the relationship.
Each by itself is only half of what is required for successful relationships and feelings of being a fully individuated person. Hence the need to create a way the two can exist side by side
In the workshop, we will also demonstrate the practical work of Redecision therapy by doing demonstrations of therapy. We will invite people to make a decision if they want to participate in the demonstration. This way you will have the opportunity to gain theory and experience.
