The changing world is driving significant change within organizations. They must constantly adapt to remain competitive in the marketplace. Instead of changing business models, and strategies, organizations often redefine their structures, roles, and teams. They are merging ‘the old’ with ‘the new’, in many ways. Sometimes the ‘new’ is an externally recruited individual who crosses a major external boundary for the first time and learns the organisation from the ground up. Other times, the ‘new’ team member is a colleague with 8 years of experience in the company, who has changed roles and teams.

How do we preserve the legacy of the old team members while making room for the integration of the new ones? How can we help the team build a new identity and establish rules for working together in the new composition?

In this workshop, you will see what happens to you and your team when a new person joins. We will summarise what actions can support effective collaboration. You will have the opportunity to create your own plan to help yourself, your team, or your client cope with such changes.

I will share my experience of supporting managers and teams through changes in team composition. I invite them to explore the group imago and create space to share their hopes, fears, and needs that can be addressed through contracting. I also provide the space to affirm the new identity while preserving the legacy of the old one.
