Berne was inspired by the ancient greek concept of physis and defined it as »the force of nature that is always striving to make things grow and to make growing things more perfect«. If that is true (we’ll never get proof) Physis is our most primal being, our essence; it is a source of our power and an engine of desire – the mother of all our motivations. Wouldn’t it be great if we could make use of it?

Fifteen years ago, I designed a resource-orientated Script workshop based on the concept of Physis – »Treasure Hunt« – and have been developing it ever since. But the goal has remained the same: Giving a name to the participants’ physis to empower them to harness their inner Physis-drive. The Treasure Hunt is a shared journey that empowers the free child in order to de-power the limiting script.

Finding the exact right words for one’s Physis creates a deep felt sense of identity. It produces an awareness of what one really wants to do (or absolutely doesn’t), what impact one wants to have on the world and how to legitimise actions to oneself and others.

In this interactive workshop, I will outline the concept of “treasure hunting” and we will do a few exercises together to get a treasury taste.
