In a world where family-run businesses play a predominant role in the global economy, understanding the complex dynamics between inheritance, legitimacy and identity is the best way to support the evolution and, in particular, the takeover of a family business.
In this workshop, we will focus on the takeover of a family business, exploring in particular the place of the buyer in the transmission of such a business through the prism of transactional analysis.
We will draw on transactional analysis concepts such as culture, psychological games, leadership and systems analysis, to explore how they influence decisions, relationships and organisational culture in business succession.
During this interactive workshop, we will work together to find answers to the following questions:

How can we, through an exploration of the organisation’s culture, identify the challenges to successful transmission ?
What are the specific challenges faced by family business buyers in terms of legitimacy and identity, given the legacy of taking over such a company ?
How can TA support those people taking over family businesses in managing the tensions between loyalty to the family legacy and the need to innovate ?

By exploring these questions and linking them to the concepts and practices of transactional analysis, this workshop offers participants an opportunity to reflect on the specific challenges facing family business buyers in a changing world.
