Transference and countertransference are part of our professional relationships. Often demonised, we propose a shift in perspective, towards seeing them as elements of the unconscious process which enable empathic inquiry and involvement, in the service of the client. From our experience the imago of our internal family is important in navigating the transferential process.

The workshop addresses the transferential dynamics, focusing on:

  • the contact with the TA professional’s family imago, which influences the work in different settings: individual, group, couple or family psychotherapy/counseling organisation and educational.
  • the concept of Existential Nodes. The concept of Existential Nodes is an integration to the Life Script theoretical model and connects the psychological and spiritual dimensions of human existence.

Berne’s beliefs about life indicate the outcome of the experiential conclusions of our script systems, and, in our opinion, also allow us to come into contact with the spiritual dimension living in each of us, which we call Life, without connotating it otherwise than as it manifests itself on a universal and existential level.
We consider contact with beliefs about life as one of the points of access to the spiritual dimension present in every person, not characterized in a confessional way but decisive for the integration of the Self. And consider the relationship as the space and time of the manifestation of Life, with our family as the first relational experience.

Within this dense interconnected network there are some significant junctions, organizing the human experience, which we have called existential nodes: evolutionary passages which, depending on each person’s history, we experience in collaboration with life or in an attitude of power over life.

The workshop will invite reflection, discussions and experiential activities, aiming to facilitate the contact with the professional’s own internal process regarding key existential questions and their family imagos, supporting the connection with the professional experience.
