Group psychotherapy has never ceased to exist since its birth, but some new variables, such as the integration of complexity theory, or modern communication devices, have stimulated some questions in the authors of the workshop, challenging for both group therapist, expert or inexperienced. Is it possible to think about a therapeutic strategy for the therapy group? should the therapist will to let the patients change, or the group should change toward “being more theraputic”? Is it possible to think about supervision, focused on the psychotherapy group? does Berne’s metaphor of chess still make sense in a complex world in which everything and everyone interacts and communicates, or should we think about a new metaphor describing reality? and finally, what would have been thinking Berne about nowdays use in group treatments of digital chats?
The authors propose to show and let audience make experience with some of their practices they regularly use in their clinical transactional analysis therapy groups practice with a predominantly psychodynamic orientation, but with an eye towards complexity and modernity.
there will be also time to have short supervision session on group therapy, using one of new easy design the authors invented about group therapy.
